A complete Bang & Olufsen audio system designed by David Lewis, comprising one BeoSound 9000 six-disc CD system on its floor stand, a pair of BeoLab 1 active loudspeakers and one BeoLab 2 active subwoofer. Produced from the late 1990s into the early 2000s, the set combines sculptural aluminium forms with Bang & Olufsen's distinctive display of technology.
Design and history
David Lewis designed the BeoSound 9000 for Bang & Olufsen in Denmark. Introduced in 1996, its six CDs are displayed in a vertical row behind a glass panel. The matching BeoLab 1 active floor speakers and BeoLab 2 active subwoofer continue the same architectural design language and form a powerful complete system.
Materials and construction
Aluminium, glass, composite materials and black textile speaker covers. The active BeoLab speakers and subwoofer contain their own amplification. The set includes one BeoSound 9000 with floor stand, two BeoLab 1 loudspeakers and one BeoLab 2 subwoofer.
