Alvar Aalto Stool 60 for Artek, 1960s Finger Joint Edition
Alvar Aalto Stool 60 for Artek, 1960s Finger Joint Edition
Alvar Aalto designed Stool 60 for Artek in 1933. These vintage examples date from the 1960s and feature the finger-jointed construction around the seat edge associated with earlier Artek production.
The stool is built around Aalto’s characteristic bent birch L-leg. Three legs attach directly beneath the circular seat, creating an exceptionally simple, stable and stackable structure without a separate supporting frame.
Decades of use have given the birch surfaces natural variation and pronounced patina, while the visible finger joints distinguish these stools from newer production. The compact form remains versatile as seating, a bedside piece, an occasional table or a display surface.
The stools are in good vintage condition with visible signs of age and use. The birch shows scratches, surface marks, worn areas and naturally developed patina. Please review all images for details.
